That is very simple. Call our priest Fr. Jos Tharakan a 417-881-3073, or email him at email@example.com and he will help you figure out what is the best way to proceed.
1. Baptism: The Episcopal Church considers that anyone who has been baptized with water in the name of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, in any church or denomination, has been validly baptized. Those who have not been baptized become members of the church through baptism.
2. Transfer: Those who have already been baptized become members by transferring from another church or denomination.
3. Confirmation: Adult members become confirmed members through the sacrament of confirmation. Confirmation involves prayers and the laying on of hands by an Episcopal Bishop.
It is not necessary to be confirmed to be an adult member in good standing at St. James. However, confirmation is required for eligibility to vote and to serve in almost all elected offices in the church, and some appointed offices as well.
No matter where you are on your journey, make an appointment with Fr. Jos. Come and join us on a Sunday for worship or Wednesday for healing service. By being part of the worshipping community you will experience the care, the love and the acceptance of the community beyond all words put together. Walk in love, and experience acceptance as you are.
I love St. James church because of the people who call this place "home". There is a place for everyone who comes through the door to worship and serve in ways which are meaningful and personal. Together we are a faith community where all can belong. Elaine
I love the sense of the Holy Spirit that lives and moves throughout the worship and ministries that we all share. I love that we look for and see Christ in each other and in all who enter our spiritual home. And, I love that we take our shared love of God to those outside our doors....and beyond.
St. James is a wonderful place where everyone is treated like family. Visitors can come and feel the love and warmth from the time they walk in the door until they leave. Many come back because we know how to share the LOVE.
When I came to St James, I immediately felt the realness of the people, Father Ross, and the beauty of the service. There were times I felt like leaving, but the anchor pulled me back. Thank God for all the anchors that are all around and in St. James.
