The "Wrapped in Prayer" group began in the Fall of 2012 when a group of St. James women decided that they wanted to start a prayer shawl ministry .
Shawls are given for healing, for comfort, for those who mourn, those who move away, and for anniversaries, birthdays and other special occassions. Members can ask for a shawl for someone and they will be given out as they are available.
As the shawls are being crafted, prayers are offered for the unknown person whow will receive the shawl. When a shawl has been completed, it is blessed by Fr. Charlie during a service (usually Wednesday or Sunday).
This group meets Wednesdays in the church library from 12:30-2:00 p.m. All are welcome to knit or do needlework of their choice. We provide prayer shawls for congregants who are experiencing illness, difficult times or loss. We also choose mission projects to do.
We would love to add new members to our group, all are welcome--men and women alike. If you don't know how to knit or crochet or are out of practice, we will teach you. Please come and join our ministry and group of friends!
